I was supposed to be induced on Monday, December 9, but plans quickly changed on the Sunday night before that. Hank had come home sick from school on Friday...I took him straight to the doctor and they said it was just a fever virus, but to watch and make sure he didn't start to pull in his chest. We had a busy and fun weekend and Hank did well throughout the weekend. However, he woke up from his nap late Sunday afternoon with a fever and pulling in his chest. My brother came and got Chase and we headed to Children's South with Hank. Hank got admitted at Children's Hospital that night because his oxygen was too low and they couldn't get it up. We stayed there two nights and came home on Wednesday. Hank seemed to be doing much better, so we rescheduled my induction for Thursday. Zip was born on Thursday and he was absolutely perfect! Chase and Hank got to come and see him in the hospital, but they did have to wear their masks to make sure Zip would not get sick. Chase and Hank stayed with Pops and Mama Zo. Everything was going well, until Drew's mom called Friday night and said Hank was running a fever and pulling again. So, Drew and his mom took Hank back to Children's Hospital, where he was admitted and stayed until Monday. Chase stayed with Drew's Dad at their house, and Anna came and stayed in the hospital with me. On Saturday, Chase, Zip, and I went to stay at my parent's house until Drew and Hank came home on Monday. It was so hard to not all get to be together at such a special time, but we are so blessed to have such wonderful family, and there is no way we would have made it through the week without them!
So, back to Zip....Andrew Zbinden Cochran "Zip" was born on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Vincents Hosptial. He weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz., and he was 22 inches long. He was so precious and gets sweeter and sweeter every day! We are so so thankful for our sweet Zip! He definitely has his own little personality, but he just goes along with what everyone else is doing too. He has brought so much joy to our family and he loves his Daddy and brothers the most!
Here, Chase and Hank are watching him get his bath.....
They were so so excited about their new baby brother!
He is so precious!
We were so sad that Daddy and Hank did not get to come home from the hospital with us, but it was so special to have Chase there...and Pops and Mama Zo and Anna :)
Sweet Chase was such a trooper throughout the week. He is just so precious and such a great big brother! He was a huge help to me at my parents house too!
I am so thankful that Zip got to meet my dad (his "Gran"). These pictures will always be the most special to me. Dad passed away on February 8, 2014, when Zip was almost 2 months old. While we hated for Hank to be in the hospital, it was such a blessing for Zip, Chase, and I to have that time with Dad after leaving the hospital. Zip would have absolutely loved his Gran, and Gran would have loved him! While Zip will not remember his Gran, it is my prayer that he will feel like he knew him through stories that we tell.
Zip's first time to meet Ruby :) She truly is the sweetest dog, and she is always so so good with these little ones!
Zip with Alex, Chase, and Peg-P...
Sweet Hank finally made it home to see his Baby Zip! We were so thankful that he was healthy and he was so excited to see Zip!
He wanted his hands to be on Zip at all times....and we let him love on Zip as much as he wanted to!
We were so happy to have everyone home, safe, and healthy under our roof :)
