Chase's First Spring Break!

We had a great Spring Break together! Thankfully, Drew got done early most days so he was able to enjoy it with us. I put all of Spring Break into one post, so this is going to be a long one...we were just having too much fun all week to stop and update the blog!

We started our Spring Break last Saturday...we went to Montgomery to my good friend Sara's house and we had so much fun! Sara and her husband, Davis, moved to Montgomery almost 2 years ago, so our little group of college friends hasn't gotten together quite as much since then. So, Meredith, Mary Laura, Drew, Chase, and I all met Sara, Davis, and Traci at Sara and Davis's house for lunch. We had a great time and it was so much fun for all of the kids to meet! In this picture, Chase is having fun playing with Sara's youngest son, Dawson...

Here, Chase is having a great time with Traci's little girl, Amelia....

Here is the group of us (Mary Laura, Traci, Amelia, Me, Chase, Sara, Dawson, Davis, and Meredith)....

After we left Sara's, Drew, Chase, and I went to visit my cousin Jenn who also lives in Montgomery. Karl and Jack had gone to see Karl's family in Pheonix City for the weekend, but we were excited that we got to see Jenn and Annie Elizabeth!

On Tuesday, Alex came to our house for the morning...we played at the house and then went to the playground! Anna and Drew met us there after a while, and everyone had a great time! Here is Chase trying to walk with Drew...
Chase and Drew sliding...Chase had a look on his face like he wasn't so sure about the playground....

Chase and Alex playing on the tire swing...they had fun!

Chase swinging....he is very serious!

Alex going down the slide!
Alex and Anna playing...
Drew got a golf ball out of his car and Chase liked playing with the ball on the slide...he LOVES balls these days and that is definitely his favorite word!
Chase crawling on the little bridge...
On Wednesday, we had fun playing out in the yard...Chase loves playing in the balls and sliding and swinging on his little playset!

No matter how many balls are around him...he still likes Ruby's tennis ball the most!

Chase liked to put the ball at the top of the slide and watch it go down...

His pants got dirty, so we are just sporting the diaper for the camera!

The sun was in Ruby and Chase's eyes :)
Chase loves to slide!
Chase had so much fun on his swing...he likes to go high!

Whenever we say "Hello", Chase picks up the phone (or whatever else may be close by), holds it to his ear, and says "Hi"
On Thursday, we went to the Zoo! We bought the year long family pass, but this was our first time to go. We had a great time! Chase slept for most of the Zoo trip in the stroller, but he enjoyed it when he woke up! (and Drew and I enjoyed it the whole time!) This was right after Chase woke up...

He made sure that he woke up for his Mama's favorite...the seals- he liked them!

Playing at home after the Zoo...

He has started cruising a lot more...here he was going from the coffee table to Drew...

Always have to include a picture of "Ruby girl"...

Chase loves to climb on his chair, and he is very into opening drawers :)

The chair is very often used as a means to an end....

He will usually point to the light now when you ask him to...

On Friday, Chase got his first haircut and he did such a great job! The lady who cuts my hair, Marcella, cut his hair. Marcella has cut my hair since I was a little girl...she cuts my parents' hair too, and she and her family have truly become special friends of my family through the years. So, it was really special for her to give him his first haircut. He sat in Drew's lap the whole time and was so sweet. He really loved when she gave him a sucker, and his haircut looks great!

Chase and Marcella after his haircut...he is still hanging on to that sucker!

Chase and his Grandad after his haircut....
We wrapped up Spring Break on Saturday and Sunday playing out in the yard and spending as much time outside in the beautiful weather as possible! Chase is playing in my t-shirt and his sunglasses!

Chase trying on his Easter outfit...

Chase and Ruby playing again in the backyard...he will do whatever it takes to get the ball from Ruby!

Chase loves to climb up his slide, and he is so proud when he makes it to the top!

He loves throwing the ball to Ruby!

On his way to the top....

And, he made it!

Chase and Daddy

Drew was interviewed for an article through UAB on what it is like to be in medical school and have a family. I got to see a sneak peek at his answers and he did such a great job! Chase, Ruby, and I are so blessed to have him...he is the very best! He has handled himself so well these past three years, and I know that while he will be an excellent doctor, he will always be an excellent father and husband first. I took this picture below for Drew to submit for the article...

More pictures of Chase that day....he is always on the go!

Reading with Daddy

No matter what he is doing, Chase loves being with his Daddy...

Visiting with Drew's Family...

We went to eat dinner with the Cochrans this past weekend and we stopped to see Drew's Nana on the way. We haven't seen her in a while so it was great to get to see her and sit and visit with her. She is such and amazing woman and I am so glad that Chase is getting to know her. He thoroughly enjoyed himself!Chase at the Cochran's house in his new camping chair that his Mama Zo and Pops gave him! He also loves the remote these days...he holds it up to his ear and looks at us to say "Hello"- remotes and cell phones look pretty similar! He also has on his new tennis shoes here...they are his first pair of Nike's and they make him look like such a big boy!

Chase's Pops got a new riding lawn mower, so Chase had to get his picture made on it...

Chase and Aunt Julie playing with his ball...

Chase with his Mama Zo and Pops...

Chase with Uncle Wes...

Chase with Uncle Clay trying on Mama Zo's glasses...(he still has his remote in hand, of course)

Having fun at home

Chase is into everything these days! He loves pulling things off shelves and out of drawers!

He loves it when we put bubbles in the bathtub! He quickly learned how to make himself look like Santa Claus! (that is what he has done in the pictures below..its kinda hard to tell)

Drew hung Chase's swing in the backyard this past Friday and he loves it! He got to swing for a little over an hour before the rain started. He was also very happy to be holding his ball while swinging..."ball" and "uh oh" are also two of his favorite words to say lately.

The Snow...

This is our house when it snowed...school wasn't canceled but all I wanted to do was stay home and play in the snow! It was so beautiful!

Drew had to be at the hospital early that morning so this was my creative way of getting a picture of Chase and Ruby without getting him all wet before school...

Valentine's Day and Fun with Alex!

Chase loved his first Valentine's Day and he certainly got his wear out of all of his Valentine's outfits! Here he is before church one morning...he loves sitting on his changing pad...but we don't leave him unsupervised, of course!
Chase and Daddy ready for church!

Chase and Daddy after school...He has always loved Drew, but now he always wants to be with Drew if he is there- and one of his favorite words is "Dada"..it is so sweet!

We tried to get a good Valentine's Day picture of Chase and Ruby and these are what we came up with...

Chase is starting to get a little big for his seat!

We kept Alex while Hunter and Anna went on their Valentine's date and we had so much fun! We went out to eat, which was an adventure...taking two kids out to eat is definitely different than just one! They were both so sweet, though, and they really had fun playing in the tub!

Alex tried on my rainboots:)
